8MIFL Champion Louisiana Tigers and Dallas Dawgs Headline IAN’s 2026 8MIFL Awards

Larry Mo Jr. earned Most Valuable Player honors, while the Dallas Dawgs claimed three individual awards in the 2026 IACP selections. The awards and accompanying all league teams put the Louisiana and Dallas standouts at the center of a group featuring talent across both sides of the ball.

Mo’s Louisiana Tigers won the championship, pairing the team’s title with his MVP award and all league wide receiver selection. His recognition makes him one of the central figures of this awards class, pairing the MVP distinction with a selection among the league’s top receiving options.

Dallas quarterback Romeo Rome earned Offensive Player of the Year and the quarterback spot on the all league offense. Rome headlines an offensive group with a Dawgs presence, joined by running back Xavier Kelley, wide receiver Harold Brooks and offensive lineman Isaiah Connor.

Those four selections give Dallas half of the eight spots on the offensive unit. Kelley takes the lone running back position, while Brooks joins Mo and Jai Mitchel in the receiving group. Louisiana’s Jaycob Daniels and Johnny Parker round out the offensive line alongside Connor. Mitchel and Parker represent the MBG Kings, giving that club recognition at both receiver and in the trenches.

On defense, Dallas lineman Tyler Cassel earned Defensive Player of the Year and a place on the all league defensive front. Cassel joins Mo and Rome as an individual award winner, making that trio the headliners among the honored players.

Joining Cassel on the defensive line are Brewer Whaley and Jamar Alexander. The linebacker selections are Don Don Graham and Josh Jenkins, while Dewayne Washington, La’Roderick Scott and Landon Davis fill the defensive back positions.

The Kings also have representation through Jenkins and Davis, adding defensive honors to the offensive selections of Mitchel and Parker. Their four players span four position groups, giving the club a varied presence across the two teams, in a good result for a club that missed the championship.

Dallas head coach Reginald Johnson completes the individual award winners as Coach of the Year. His recognition accompanies the honors for Rome and Cassel, giving the Dawgs awards for COTY, OPOTY and DPOTY.

Mo’s MVP selection remains the leading distinction, but Dallas has the broadest presence among the four award categories shown. Alongside the all-league selections, these honors spotlight the players and coach recognized by IAN.
